Medical Education VS Engineering Education

In the journey of education and career-building, there has always been a great debate and discussion going on specifically for two career aspects which are engineering and medical. Students face a lot of confusion while deciding their career goals and choosing between these. If you see at the statistics and data, there are a number of engineering aspirants than medical which can be also be concluded with the fact that the number of engineering colleges is much more than that of medical colleges.

What are the major differences in pursuing an engineering career or a medical career is interesting to think about?

First of all, come the preparation and course of both the career streams. In order to get into a good government engineering or medical college, there is heavy competition around. It is equally difficult to get into your favourite college whether it is engineering or medical. But there is a very vast difference viewed in the overall number of colleges countrywide.

If you talk of engineering, there are abundant private colleges where one can study but for medical, the number of colleges is very less. This is the reason lot many students don’t even try for medical in spite of having an interest and simply take admission in an engineering college as it is easy.

Another perspective of viewing the two career objectives is the job opportunities after graduation is over. In engineering getting a job is considered easier as, after the graduation of 4 years, you will get enrolled in some nice pay job. However,

in medical it takes a long period of time for completion of studies almost 8 years for post-degree and specialization. But here actually lies a misconception as getting jobs is totally dependent on the individual and his own intelligence.

There are many people who are engineers but working on a low pay scale whereas just an MBBS doctor earning a decent amount of money.

Now there is a huge difference in the experience of college life as well pertaining to both the streams of education. The engineering students live a life of full of fun and enjoyment along with their studies whereas,

in case of medical, the students primarily have to devote all of their time studying and practicing the practical labs. They have to constantly keep working hard to become the best doctors as a doctor’s profession is not easy.

It comes with a lot of responsibility as people’s lives rely on their hands. Here is where the major signs of being a doctor come into the picture.

Engineers can be great but they are meant to fix the technical devices and develop new technologies but doctors are not just great rather they are kept at the position of Gods on earth.

So, if you visualize closely, there cannot be a debate initiated on which career line is better in between engineering and medicine.

Both of them has its own benefits and adjustments. Therefore, there should not be any dilemma when the time comes to decide upon your career.

One should go for the career stream only in which he finds his interest and passionate about. If one follows his passion, nothing can stop him to move forward and achieve success in that. Your profession should become another way to feel good and proud of yourself. This is the way to convert success in pleasure and pride.
