Major with a Minor
Direct Admission in Srm Chennai- Minor is an option rather than a requirement for B. Tech students. They may opt for one of the below mentioned Engineering or Non-engineering discipline as Minor, earning additional credits ranging from 18 to 20. However, students are permitted to choose only one Minor either from engineering or Non-engineering discipline. This opportunity is ideal for students who took a Major out of necessity but would still like to pursue their passion in another discipline or to enrich/equip them for a specific profession where greater job opportunities exist. Another advantage of opting for a Major with a Minor is to earn standing credits for pursuing a Masters degree abroad or within India too.
Direct Admission in Srm Chennai- Only students who satisfy a set of minimum eligibility criteria set forth by the university and meet certain pre-requisites, will be permitted to opt for a Minor. The student, who opts for a Minor and satisfies the credit requirements as per the regulations, will be awarded a Certificate in Minor in addition to the Degree in Major or Degree in Major with Specialization, as the case may be. Generally, the total credits to be earned will range from 192 credits to 200 credits.

The refund rules as per University Grants Commission (UGC) vide letter No.: D.O.1-3/2007(CPP-II) dated 6th December 2016 will apply for all programmes offered by Srm Chennai University of Science and Technology (formerly known as Srm Chennai University) (Except Medical / Dental Programmes)
Procedure:
The prospect has to download and fill the refund form and post it along with the original documents mentioned in the refund form to the following address while the scanned copy of the same can be emailed to admissions.india@srmuniv.ac.in.

Terms and Conditions
- Request for cancellation through email/posts/letters/telephone etc will not be entertained.
- The refund of money as per UGC guidelines will be effected ONLY BY RTGS / NEFT to the account of either parents or the candidate.
- The maximum time taken to process and effect the transfer of refund money will be 30 working days from the date of cancellation.
- The first day of orientation / induction programme will be considered as the date of Commencement of classes for the purpose of applying the refund policy.
- The above policy will be applied even if the student cancelled the admission without attending any class.
- Though all cancellation requests for all campuses have to be submitted to the Directorate of Admissions, the processing of refunds will be done by different Directorates across campuses depending on the admission status of the student, as per the table shown below:Kindly refer to Provisional Admission Letter (PAL) or the Fee receipt for finding out the campus and faculty
