Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science was formerly known as Hindustan College of Engineering. It was established in the year 1985 and was granted a deemed University status in the year 2008-09.

Admission Procedure and Courses Available

Undergraduate Engineering

Admission Procedure:                                        

Hindustan University takes into consideration students who have passed their Higher Secondary Examination with commendable marks for admission. The University strictly follows the eligibility criteria of UGC norms.

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Examination (HITSEEE)

An online Entrance Examination (HITSEEE) is conducted every year at various cities across India. Students seeking admission for undergraduate programmes have to register online to appear for the Entrance Examination on dates specified in the media advertisements. The time duration of the entrance examination is 2 hours. Students are required to answer 120 questions covering Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Based on the entrance examination score and marks in the qualifying examination, a rank list is prepared for admission into U.G (Engineering & Technology) Programmes.

How to Apply 

Students, having the qualifying marks, can apply to any one of the undergraduate programmes offered by the University. The applications should be submitted at the admission office before the deadline mentioned in the advertisement. This does not apply for those who apply for non-professional programmes and research related programmes.

Special Admission Programmes 

The University recognizes the need for providing educational opportunities for people of widely varying ages and backgrounds. Therefore, special admission programmes are available for potentially successful students from disadvantaged, culturally deprived, or economically impoverished segments of the society. For further details, the Head Office can be contacted. Admission to Hindustan University thus, is purely non-discriminatory.

Re-admission 

Students who are initially enrolled at Hindustan University but did not attend the particular semester/term can re-register, provided they left with good conduct and have not enrolled in any other institution after leaving Hindustan University. Such students may be readmitted by submitting a Readmission Form. Students who have been dismissed either from Hindustan University or any other institution will not be readmitted under any circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility to Register for Online Entrance Examination – B. Tech. Courses / B. Tech.

1. A Pass in (10+2) or equivalent examination with a minimum average of 60% marks in Maths, Physics, & Chemistry.

2. For  B.Tech. (Bio-Technology)  alone,  a  pass  in  (10+2)  with a  minimum average of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.

3.Any other examination of any university or authority accepted by this University as equivalent of plus two.

Vocational Stream
HSC – Vocational Candidates: Candidates who have qualified with HSC (vocational stream) with engineering / technical vocational subjects and any one or two of the related subjects like Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry are eligible provided they have passed their qualifying examinations and obtained minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the vocational & related subjects.

Eligibility to Register for Online Entrance Examination – B. Arch

1. A Pass in plus two with an average of not less than 60% in (10+2) level or its equivalent examination with Mathematics / Business Mathematics as one of the subjects.

2. A Pass in 3 year diploma (10+3) recognized by central / state government with Mathematics / Business Mathematics as a subject of study with an aggregate of not less than 50%.

3.Any other examination of any university or authority accepted by this University as equivalent of plus two.

4.All applicants for B.Arch. course including NRI / Foreign Nationals should write the Aptitude test conducted by Council of Architecture (NATA) and the score should not be less than 80 out of 200.

Online Examination:

1. Students awaiting for Higher Secondary / +2 Examinations results are eligible to register for online Entrance Exam.

2.Only Indian Nationals and those who have done their Plus two / HSC in Schools in India are eligible to apply for Online Entrance Exam Registration.

3.Foreign Nationals / NRIs are exempted from Online Entrance Examination.

Age Limit: Upper age limit will be 19 years of age as on first of July of the year of application.

ELIGIBILITY FOR LATERAL ENTRY – II YR B.TECH. PROGRAMMES
Diploma in the appropriate branch of Engg./ Tech / B.Sc. (with Mathematics as a subject). Average 50% in final year of study. The candidate shall have not completed 21 years of age as on first of July of the year of application.

Undergraduate Arts and Science
Admission Procedure:

International Students

Admission and Eligibility Criteria for NRIs / Foreign Nationals - MASTER LIST OF NRI & FOREIGN STUDENTS 2008-2017

Hindustan University
Office of International Student Affairs, provides services for international aspirants, students, interns, faculty and scholar enrolled or exchanged at Hindustan University. Our goal is to enable Foreign and Non-Resident Indians (NRI) students to have successful academic, cultural and personal experiences while studying at the university and facilitate exchange programs, joint research, study abroad, summer program etc. for our students to gain international exposure.

Admission and Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Programs (B.Tech./B.Arch.)
Foreign and Non Resident Indians (NRI) Candidates
Candidates should fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria to seek admission under Foreign and Non Resident Indians (NRI) Candidates Category. Admissions are based on the candidates’ performance in the 10 + 2 or equivalent examination and satisfying the guidelines of respective councils governing the engineering and architecture education. The admission procedures, application form and fees are different from the domestic students.

Admission and Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Programs (B.B.A., B.Com., B.C.A., B.Sc.)
Foreign and Non Resident Indians (NRI) Candidates
Candidates should fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria to seek admission under Foreign and Non Resident Indians (NRI) Candidates Category. A pass in the 10 + 2 or equivalent examination of the respective country. The admission procedures, application form and fees are different from the domestic students.

Categories of International Students Foreign Students

Students holding passport issued by foreign countries including the people of Indian Origin who have acquired the nationality of foreign countries.

Who can apply?
Foreign nationals, PIO card holders, OCI (Dual citizens), NRI students, and NRI sponsored students can apply under the category of International students. PIO and OCI card holders will only be considered equivalent to NRI students as far as education is concerned.

Admission Criteria for Foreign Students

1.English is one of the subjects in the qualifying examination.

2.Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory / optional subjects for B.Tech. courses.

3.The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 30st April at the year of admission.

4.Valid passport and visa copies.

Non Resident Indians (NRI)

Non Resident Indian students who have studied and passed the qualifying examinations (11thand 12th) from schools and colleges situated in foreign countries (even if affiliated to the Boards of Secondary Education or Universities located in India).

Admission Criteria for Non Resident Indians (NRI)

1.English is one of the subjects in the qualifying examination.

2.Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory / optional subjects for B.Tech. courses.

3.The candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 30st April at the year of admission.

4.For candidates having NRI status, the Sponsorship should be given only by the parents (either father or mother only) living abroad. Sponsorship by relative / friend is not acceptable.

5.NRI candidates should produce Employer Certificate of the sponsor – either Father or Mother.

6.Valid passport and visa copies.

Engineering and Technology

Non-Resident Indian students and foreign students are exempted from taking the All India Entrance Examination (HITSEEE) conducted by Hindustan University for admission. Only candidates who have the requisite qualification from foreign universities or Boards of Higher Education recognised as equivalent to the +2 stage of India by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi are eligible for admission. Admissions are in conformity with the guidelines set by the Association of Indian Universities and the Statutory Bodies of India like University Grants Commission, Council of Architecture, etc.

Board of Examination in General

The following are considered equivalent to the 10+2 system of Indian Education. They should also produce equivalent marks for the corresponding grades.

1.GCE Examination of U.K with Higher Grades in five subjects at the Ordinary Level (O Level) and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology at the Advanced Level (A Level).

2.High School Certificate Examination, University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, U.K

3.International Baccalaureate Examination of Geneva.

4.High School Graduation from Accredited Institutions of USA

5.12 years High School – Grade 12 pass from the accredited institutions of Canada.

6.12 years High School Graduation / Diploma/Certificate of an approved Board Schools of China, Thailand, Indonesia, Bhutan, Syria, Bangladesh, SriLanka, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf Countries.

7.12 years Secondary Stage qualifications of National Examination Board/Council of Ministry of Education of Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.

8.High School Certificate HSC and Cambridge School Certificate A Level from the accredited institutions of Mauritius.

9.Any other examination of the Foreign Country as found equivalent to 10 +2 examination of India by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
