Manipal Academy of Higher Education, formerly known as Manipal University, is a premier educational institution and one of India’s best private universities. Synonymous for excellence, the university has over 28,000 students from 57 different nations.

Admissions Procedure

Indian: Admissions to some of the courses, Medicine & Engineering, in particular, are done through a process which has an online test followed by counseling, which eventually leads to the admission of a student. Admissions are either through an online entrance test or are based on qualifying examination marks.

International: Foreign nationals, Non-Resident Indians, or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI category. Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Candidates can apply either under the General category or the Foreign/NRI category. Those submitting applications under both the General category and Foreign/NRI categories will be considered only under the General category. Change of category at a later stage is not possible. For MBBS, BDS, and BArch Foreign and NRI students studying abroad or if studying in India can be sponsored by only parents who have NRI status.

For candidates applying for the MD/MS/PG Medical Diploma courses, he/she must be an NRI or supported by either Parent, Brothers Sisters, or Spouse having NRI status. Candidates supported by a cousin brother/cousin sister, uncle, aunt, brother/sister-in-law, or any other person will not be accepted.

However, for all other courses, candidates can be sponsored by parents, brothers, and sisters of parents, or even their own brothers and sisters with NRI status.
