Admission Procedure

Admission Procedure for International (Foreigners/NRI/OCI/PIO) Students:

Starting date of admission process – 1st March 2018
Last date of admission process – 30th July 2018
PhD admissions are open throughout the year.

The admission procedure for the International students seeking admission to the following programmes

In Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) admission procedure includes 3 steps

1. Completion of the prescribed Admission Form
2. Submission of necessary documents along with the filled form
3. Payment of the Processing Fees, Eligibility Fees, Medical Checkup fees and Tuition Fees for the academic year.

Admission Cycle

Students can begin to apply from March through June of the academic year for admission in the Academic Year that begins in June-July. For example, June 2018 admission cycle will begin in March 2018 and admissions will be open through June 2018. Students are requested to submit completed applications well within the time frame so as to get the confirmation of admission in time. The courses start between June 15th through July 30th every year.

Note: The international students; whose academic year completes by August-end or mid-September, can join English Language Program before taking admitted to the main course.

Instructions for Filling up the Application form :

  1. It is mandatory that the applicant has adequate knowledge of English.
  2. Please check the minimum entry requirements for the intended degree and submit your application only if those requirements are fulfilled. Courses and eligibility

iii. Complete all relevant sections of the application form and please write ‘Not Applicable’ in front of the sections which do not apply to you. Please do not leave any blank columns.

  1. Make sure you have all supporting documents ready for your application. Your application cannot be processed unless all sections of the application form are filled in and all supporting documents are provided to the University.
  2. Submit the form and documents at one time.

  1. Personal Documents :
  2. A copy of the student’s passport – Students from SAARC countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) must submit proof of residence along with a Passport.
  3. NRI students who have NRI/PIO/OCI cards must submit a copy of the same.
  4. In the case of African students, Iranian, Iraq, UAE, and Dubai students, parents’s Identity Proof which includes their citizenship number and a copy of the residential proof must be submitted
  5. Copy of the First and Visa Page of the Parent’s passport OR NRI Certificate from the Indian Mission or the Proof of residence must be submitted by the parents of the NRI student.
  6. Two Colour passport-size photographs of the student. ( clear eye and both ears show in photo)
  7. Academic Documents :

1.i. Attested copies of all the relevant educational transcripts (i.e. Student must provide the official details about the subjects he/she has completed, syllabus, and a copy of his/her mark sheets), passing certificates, diploma, etc. as per the lists provided on links. Those students who have passed from ICSC board schools/ IB board, oxford schools, Edexcel board ( for List of documents – click here) i.e. other than CBSC schools where there are no scores must get transcripts in scores from schools and also equivalence done from AIU www.aiuweb.org email: evaluation @aiuweb.org

  3. Arrangement for the medical test is made in the hospitals of Bharati Vidyapeeth University.

iii. As per government rules all international students entering India on student visas have to be tested for HIV and will not be given admission if found to be positive.

  1. All international students will be required to pay medical checkup fees, which include the medical insurance cover for the first year.
  2. An International Student must submit a report of the test to the University and College.

  2. A copy of student’s passport – For student’s from SAARC countries (Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh) must submit proof of residence and Passport along with the proof of identity.
  3. NRI students who have NRI/PIO/OCI card must submit the copy of the same.

iii. Those who are taking admission to Post-Graduate Programmes in Medicine (MD/MS) or Dental Post graduate Courses (MDS) must submit temporary registration of Medical Council of India (MCI) and Dental council of India (DCH) and NEET examination score respectively.

Ph.D. applicant has to purchase Ph.D. brochure along with form. For online purchase deposit US $ 45 in the account. Along with the form the candidate should submit a brief note of about 500 words on 3 areas of her/his interest. Brief note should include the purpose of research and its importance on the selected topics.

After submission of application to International Students Office, it will be sent to Ph.D. section in the University. Thereafter Ph.D. section will communicate with the student.

Admission to Ph.D. programme will be finalized on the basis of interview by the committee appointed by the university authorities.

Step 4 :

Provisional Eligibility Letter:

  • University authorities will issue the letter of Provisional Admission/ Eligibility letter subject to fulfilling all the criteria and availability of seat. This letter will enable him/ her to obtain students visa upon submission to Indian mission/consulate/embassy in his/her country.

Processing Fees

Modes of Payment

  1. The student/ friend /relative may pay in US $ in the University Bank Account of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).

2 .Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, towards processing fee.

  1. Bank / SWIFT transfer: Processing fee can be deposited into the account by wire transfer. Student must send scanned copy of transaction details with the name, course and year mention on top of the page, on the email id: isc.dept@bharatividyapeeth.edu

Step 6

Final Admission

  • University authorities through their constituent units will issue final admission letter only on production of students’ visa subject to availability of seat at that point of time and on payment of tuition fees for that Academic year.
  • Kindly note that NRI/PIO/OCI students who already have multiple entry VISA to enter India also need to procure the provisional admission letter. It is mandatory regardless of the VISA status.

International Students must keep in mind

  • It is mandatory for the students to come and report within the time frame i.e. between June 30th to July 30th or the date as mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter, whichever is earlier. (This is not applicable to Ph.D. admissions)
  • The student will be required to confirm to all the rules and conditions mentioned in the letter issued to him/her.

Students should make sure that annual fees are paid and all formalities are completed before date mentioned in the provisional eligibility letter or June 30th.

Timings of Payment of Eligibility Fees and Tuition Fees

  1. At the time of form submission with documents – US $ 25 for UG /diploma/ PG/PG Diploma and the US $ 45 for Ph.D. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  2. At the time of Provisional Admission Letter pay an eligibility fee of US $400/- for any bachelor’s program and US $ 500/- for any Master’s and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.
  3. At the time of Provision, Admission Letter pays a Medical Checkup fee for all Diploma, Certificate, bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. programs. This fee is paid one time and is non-refundable.

Tuition Fees
Foreign students should pay their tuition fee after acquiring of Visa The student will be required to pay all the fees including tuition fees as prescribed by the University at the time of firm admission. COURSE FEE The Processing Fee, Provisional / Eligibility fees, and Medical Checkup Fee paid to the College/University are non-refundable and valid only for that year. e. g. 2017-18. If a student could not obtain a visa and join the course in 2017-18, he will have to make a fresh application for 2018-19.
Also, note- Tuition fees are paid for every academic year (June-May) and are charged semester-wise. Backlog or year down students have to pay fees at the time of admission to next year.

Step 7 :

Provisional admission will be finalized by personal interview /counseling.

Joining the college –

  1. Submit original documents which will be returned within 2-3 months
  2. Submitting the Undertaking: Anti-ragging undertaking
  3. Students seeking admission to any of the courses in any of our Constituent Colleges will have to give an undertaking that he/she will abide by all the rules and regulations of the University as a student of this University– Rules and Regulations

Other Important Information for the International Students

If, at any stage, the student is found not eligible for admission, university has the right to cancel his/her admission.

Student Visa Requirement

International students who wish to study in India should obtain a Student Visa before travelling to India. Once he/she has been issued a provisional eligibility letter to study at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), he/she should immediately apply for his/her student visa. www.indianvisaonline.gov.in.

International students should make sure that the Student Visa is endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) by the visa issuing authority.

Checklist for the Firm Admission

Provisional admissions would be finalized only on production of :

  1. Original eligibility letter.
  2. Original academic transcripts, degrees, certificates, etc.
  3. The student’s passport with a Student Visa endorsed to Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
  4. Complete payment of all relevant fees. Submit copy of the receipts of complete payments made to the University
  5. Medical check-up clearance which includes physicians general fitness certificate.

Each International student (NRI/Foreigner/PIO/ OCI) who transfers the fees into the university account or takes out a DD is requested to send the scan and email transaction document to isc.dept@bharatividyapeeth.edu and do not forget to mention the student’s name, course and year of course for which he /she is paying the fees; on funds transfer document. The student who pays in cash must scan and email the receipt to isc.dept@bharatividyapeeth.edu.
All International students must keep one set of all receipts of the paid fees to the University with them. These receipts are needed for the various scholarships when the international student desires to apply for the same.

Eligibility for Indian Students

Indian Students

Direct Admission in Bharati Vidyapeeth  – Eligibility Certificate is the first document, which enables the students to get admission to the chosen course in the university Jurisdiction. In the interests of the students as well as in the academic interests of the University, it is necessary that the process of issuing eligibility certificate should be completed expeditiously. If such process is delayed or remains faulty due to any reason students and along with them all other concerned have to suffer. Money spends by the students and their valuable years go waste because of such delay in issuing certificates.

To avoid such eventuality or at least to minimize the same, it is necessary that this process should be completed very carefully, cautiously and with speed. The Heads of Colleges as well as Directors of constituent units of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) are requested to carefully note the following instructions for this purpose.

The Principal of the college or Director of the institute should check that the applicant satisfies all the conditions of admission to the concerned course before admitting such applicant and admissions are made according to the rules.

  • The originals & two attested copies should be retained by the College / Institute and should be made available to the University officials at the time of Eligibility camp or thereafter whenever asked for.
  • The student and the admission authority both are responsible for any discrepancy error, wrong or incomplete information in the form.
  • The Principal and Director of the constituent unit of B.V.D.U. should note the contents of University circulars issued in this behalf from time to time.
  • Please note that the Eligibility rules should be strictly followed while giving admission to the students and if any candidate is found ineligible, the Principal/ Director of the institute will be held personally responsible for the lapse and the University office shall not be a party to any litigation arising out of this critical position.
  • It should be carefully checked that the students enter all the required information in the prescribed eligibility form and no column in the form is left blank.

Photocopies of the following documents in the neat and legible form with endorsement as true copy by the Principal/ Head of the Dept./ Director of the institute or teacher incharge of admissions, under his signature and stamp (with date) should be enclosed. Certificates not so attested will be rejected. Original Documents should NOT be enclosed except migration and affidavit for educational gap and change of name, if applicable. University office will not be responsible for any loss of original documents if enclosed.

  • Statement of Marks (Last qualifying exam.)
  • Passing /Degree Certificate (If statement of marks does not make clear ? class /percentage of marks of the student in the relevant examination).
  • Migration Certificate (Original).
  • PTransfer Certificate (If applicable).
  • Attendance Certificate, if applicable.
  • Affidavit regarding gap in education and /or change of name (in the original), if applicable.
  • Copy of the admission letter issued by admission authority in case of C. E. T. admission process by University office.

If student fails to submit any of the above-mentioned certificates along with the application form, his/her admission shall be treated as provisional and shall stand cancelled on 20th December of the current academic year.

CANDIDATES BELONGING TO SC/ST CATEGORIES MUST SUBMIT THE CASTE VALIDITY CERTIFICATE.

The courses for which condition of minimum percentage of marks is required, the relaxation of 5% marks if applicable to particular course be given to the above-mentioned categories. The College shall receive eligibility fees from their students and shall issue receipts thereof. The Principal shall submit demand draft or cheque in the name of “The Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth, University, Pune” 30 of the amount so collected within four days from the date of eligibility checking.

Change in Name

It should be ensured that name of the student in the application form for eligibility and Statements of Mark, Passing Certificate; degree certificate of the qualifying examination or in any other documents enclosed herewith is the same. In case, there is a difference in the name i.e. in case of girl- student, if name after marriage is different then proof for change in the name , such as copy of Government Gazette, Marriage Registration Certificate; Affidavit should be enclosed along with the application form. Eligibility Certificate will not be issued in the absence of such documentary proof

  • Migration Certificate
  • The student migrating from the jurisdiction of the B. V. U. to any other University shall apply for migration certificate to the University, through the Principal/ Head/ Director in the prescribed application form. The concerned Principal / Head / Director shall forward the application along with the Transfer Certificate, after careful verification of the documents so as to avoid unnecessary correspondence.
  • The application form for Migration Certificate is available in the University office on Payment of RS. 10/-. The student shall pay RS. 100/- as Migration Certificate fee in the form of Demand Draft or by cash. Draft should be drawn in the name of & payable to “Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Deemed University, Pune” 30 on any nationalized Bank along with the application form.
  • Migrated Student with A. T. K. T. are Not Eligible for Admission

No student coming from another university shall be eligible for admission in this university in the next higher class, unless he is declared as passed in the preceding year / class of the former university, i. e. the student who has been granted ATPT/ ATKT in any course by other university shall not be eligible for admission in the next higher class of the course in this university.

  • Student who has appeared for supplementary examination Not Eligible

Direct Admission in Bharati Vidyapeeth  – Student who has appeared for any supplementary examination of the Statutory Board/ University shall not be eligible for admission in higher class in this University unless he/she is declared as Passed before the last date prescribed for admission to the course. “This pathway offers an opportunity for candidates to pursue their academic aspirations in a renowned educational environment known for its excellence in various fields. ”

  • The Principal / Director shall carefully note the following conditions while scrutinizing the eligibility of the students for the course
  • Student with S. S. C. and G. D. C. are not Eligible

Student passing S. S. C. examination with English and Government Commercial Diploma examination of Government of Maharashtra are not eligible for admission to the F. Y. Course of any faculty

  • Student with 11years H. S. C. / S. S. L. C. are not Eligible
  • Students passing the Higher Secondary Examination of any Board with duration of 11 years are not eligible for admission to any course; Where H.S.C. (XII std.) or equivalent examination is the minimum qualification in this University. (e.g. Rajasthan Board, M. P. Bhopal Board etc.)
  • Students passing the school level examination conducted by the following Boards will not be admitted to any course in this University on the basis of certificates of these Boards

The student passing the Three year Final Diploma Examination in Engineering conducted by the Board of Technical Examinations, Maharashtra state is eligible for admission to the first year B.A. / B. Sc. / B. C. S. / B. Com. / New five year Law course, (subject to approval of BCI), B.E. The college organizes placement drives with various companies and law firms.

  • Admission to courses after Graduation

For the purpose of admission to Second Graduation course or Post Graduation course the candidate should have passed Graduate course of three-year duration of this University or any other statutory University or equivalent examination.

In case of graduate with two years course duration (i. e. Calcutta University) the candidate securing minimum 50 % marks at graduation examination will be held eligible for admission to such course.

Procedure for submitting Eligibility application forms / list and eligibility fee.

  • The student should submit the application form, for the certificate of eligibility, to the college along with requisite documents and fee at the time of admission.Bharati Vidyapeeth, Direct Admission in Vit Vellore
  • The student should submit the application form, for the certificate of eligibility, to the college along with requisite documents and fee at the time of admission.
  • College will prepare separate lists of students in triplicate Category wise as well as Course wise.
  • These along with separate demand drafts of total fees collected should be submitted to the University on or before dates mentioned in our separate circular. The officer of the University will be retain two copies and Demand Draft and return one copy of such list by endorsing it with his signature as receipt to the college.
  • All the application forms arranged course wise and class wise as per list will be kept in the college and be submitted at the time of eligibility checking. The date and time of eligibility checking allotted to the colleges will be communicated separately.

The Principals / Directors are earnestly requested to ensure that admission are given strictly in accordance with rules and regulations.

If the colleges have any difficulty, while deciding eligibility of any candidate for admission to any course, they should refer the case to the University along with all certificates.
